Chapter 16
Most of the time readers and writers don’t meet. They typically only interact through the
published writing says chapter 16 of the Bedford reader. In order to capture the reader you’ll need to
do it with in the first paragraph. You must hook them or they won’t bother to
read father. The more you understand of your topic or issue the better your
writing will reflect the knowledge you have consumed. When you have chosen which side you will take
with in your issue, stay with it. Don’t be wishy-washy and change your mind in
the next paragraph. Stay concise. The Bedford says to choose your words wisely as
to not offend your readers. Another thing to remember is the position of which
you have decided to write in… first person (“I, We”), second person (“You”), or
third person (“She, He, It, One, They or nouns that describe a person or group”).
Another way to capture the reader is by the style in which
you write. You may find it better for your paper to make statements, or
commands. Or maybe a question or an exclamation will work better. One of these four basic types may the right
one for you. It’s all in the style in which you choose to write. Its easier for the reader if the write
remembers to use transition words and connect each paragraph to one another in
a smooth manner.
